I am Judge Katie Kennedy, and I am running for the 269th Civil District Court. Voters in all parts of Harris County can vote in this race. We need qualified, experienced leadership in this court. I have served with distinction as a top rated judge in the Texas courts for 17 years, and I have been licensed to practice law for over 24 years. I have presided over 500 cases tried to jury verdict and have disposed of over 9000 cases. I have tried, mediated and arbitrated hundreds of cases in all areas of the civil law.
The voters of Harris County have elected me to the bench on many times. Many lawyers groups have endorsed me including the Association of Women Attorneys and the Pasadena Bar Association. The Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists named me Trial Judge of the Year. Numerous community groups have endorsed me as well.

In the 2010 Houston Bar Association Judicial Qualification Poll, I received the top ranking among all district court candidates in Harris County. In fact I received more Well Qualified votes, the highest rating, than any other candidate for any district court, Democrat or Republican, incumbent or challenger. Over ninety-three percent of the lawyers voting in the poll rated me as Well Qualified or Qualified.
